A marriage made in Devon
Well, I was reading copy of Devon Brides magazine the other day and they had a great article about A marriage made in Devon…so I thought I’d share it with you! There’s possibly no other county in EnglandĀ (with exception of Cornwall ) where there’s likely to be a better marine backdrop to wedding photographs than Devon. With two coastlines to choose from, and numerous coastal wedding venues, the sea could play as important a part in the start of married life as it played in the county’s history, when Devon maritime exploreres shaped the world. The course of marriage can never be chartered by the surroundings that set it off, off course but they can provide a hugely memorable context to what is an enormous adventure for any couple. some of Devon’s wedding venues are steeped in history, places where the feet of great Elizabethan explorers have actually trodden giving a sence of historicical continuity, which any marriage needs.Coastal locations are only some of the fabulous settings which the county provides, however. The wilds of dartmoor and Exmoor, the rural backdrop of the South Hams and North Devon aristocratic strongholds and country house, all give their own unique flavour to a wedding held in Devon. We sometimes forget how lucky we are living here….
